First Post
The Le Games would like to announce three new books for your D20 Fantasy Games:
Artifacts I: Ducks of Doom
Artifacts II: Lawn of the Dead
Races I: Animal kingdoms

Each book is part of our Pocket GM series: Low cost, high quality PDf books that you can use to plug-n-play into your d20 game. Each book comes in a beautiful landscape pdf version, illustrated and fully bookmarked. Also included is a portrait pdf version stripped of bells + whistles to allow the best printing possible without draining your ink cartridge. Finally, we have included our standard RTF version, a rich text document that will allow you to cut, copy, and paste to your hearts content (no pun intended) -- The Le Games recognizes the desire for owners to print only what they want, and this RTF version is simply perfect for them.

Artifacts I: Ducks of Doom
This beautiful book is illustrated by Roger Bush (who also did the cover!), and contains 21 artifact items. They range in power level, but many have been scaled so that they can be used by low and mid level players. There is plenty here for GMs and Players alike, from the Aegis Armor to the Staff of Jesters (and don?t forget the DUCKS OF ULTIMATE DOOM!). Artifacts I: Ducks of Doom is available at Rpg.now for $2.00.

Artifacts II: Lawn of the Dead
This beautiful book is illustrated by Brad McDevitt, with a cover by Adam Briggs. Written by our new author, Nathan Hill, this book contains powerful artifacts which are all associated with the undead! Whether it is the Amulet of the Hunter, which provides protection vs. the undead, or the Wooden Army of Kristiane, which are small chess pieces that come to life in defense against the undead, there is plenty here that a GM will be able to use in his or her game! Artifacts II: Lawn of the Dead is available at Rpg.now for $2.00.

Races I: Animal kingdoms
In this d20 fantasy sourcebook you will find 5 races that will shock and amaze you, for these races are all intelligent animals! We go deep within the heart of the Amalia Lands to bring you:
-The Anatidae Kingdom (Duckmen)
-The Buteo Kingdom (Hawkmen)
-The Probsocidea Kingdom (Pachydermen)
-The Rana Kingdom (Frogmen)
-The Ursidae Kingdom (Bearmen)
Fully illustrated by Roger Bush, and co-written by Inkmonkeys, this beautiful book will make you forget all about those Teenage Mutant Ninja What'chama'callits. Races I: Animal Kingdoms is available at Rpg.now for $2.00.

Lastly, we are sad to announce that ARTIFACTS: CARD DECKS has been put on hiatus. The book itself was finished, but during editing and layout we realized that it just wasn?t very good. So we have shelved it and will be seeking a new writer for this book, and hope to have it released in the near future.

First, how the heck did you get the title Ducks of Doom? I like it, it's quirky and funny. Just curious how you came up and decided to stick with that. :D

More seriously are the artifacts of a continious power or do they increase in power like in your other pdfs?

Ducks of Doom is actually a really bad curse in Munchkin.. it takes away 2 levels ..

any relationship to your title?

Hehe... You should know better than to pick up a duck in a dungeon! :D

Thanks!

LOL.

yes yes yes. You are all very perceptive.

Ducks of Doom was inspired by the Munchin Card "Duck of doom". You can find the original card here:
http://www.sjgames.com/munchkin/game/img/Munchcard3.jpg

Officially (inside the book), the artifact is called the ULTIMATE DUCKS OF DOOM! The exclamation point is very important. (It is 4 wooden ducks that have a 95% chance of summoning geese, and 5% of becoming the DUCKS OF DOOM!)

Yes, Ducks of Doom scales artifacts for your use. And it includes 10 Baubles of Power. The preview/demo has the table of contents if you want a better idea of what it includes.

The Lawn of the Dead is less scalable. It was written by Nathan Hill, who uses a more traditional style for Artifacts (ie WOTC type artifact). I tried to tweak them a bit to make them closer to my other books, but overall what you see is what you get. On the otherhand, this also means that his descriptions are more fluid and has alot more flavor. Whereas I tend to completely seperate the Description of Powers versus the History, Nathan's writing merges them alot more for an easier read.

Once again, take a look at the demo/preview so that you can get a better idea of what you are getting.

I have a couple more artifact books coming out, that are more traditional, but I will be tweaking them Much more so that they are scalable and closer to my vision of "Artifacts for every level". I will be continuing with the not-so-serious titles for these books, because.. well, frankly, I am having a great time with it all.

My future Artifact books:
-Artifacts III: Ill-Tempered Bunnies
-Artifacts IV: Paper Beats Rock
-Artifacts V: One Bling to Rule Them All

Ill-Tempered Bunnies is wriiten by Inkmonkeys and will have 2-5 artifacts that somehow have bunnies associated with it. He hasn't shown them to me yet, so I am a little afraid. I wanted to call it Ill-tempered mutated sea bass, but there is no way I would be able to get even one artifact that would fit the title. I suppose I could if I really thought about it. Hmmmmmmm.

Paper Beats Rock is written by Kilmer and has a neat artifact in it called the Paper Sword. He has a FANTASTIC writing style. Very descriptive. Very well knowledged in D20 crunch.

One Bling to Rule Them All will center around rings, amulets, and other trinkets (I wrote 150 Baubles and variant baubles, and I will be putting about 10-20 in each book). If this particular book is successful, then I want to followup with "Artifacts VI: Fellowship of the Bling", and maybe end the triology with a "Artifacts VII: Lords of the Bling". I will probably be writing this one myself.

I want to release one or two artifact books a month along with non-artifacts books. I definitely want to make more Synergy Artifacts, but will probably just include them in these PocketGM books rather than a true 50-page sequel.

coming next month: ALTERNATE RANGERS! A book of 5 new Ranger Classes. These are alternate versions of the Core Ranger class in D20, and will have a general description, progression chart, and detailed specific abilities. It is already written, so I just need to edit it and slap it together. It will be fully illustrated and looks like it will be 16-20 pages (without images), and will sell for $2.00. (my other writers are writing alternate versions of the Druid, Fighter, Monk, and Cleric. It will follow the same format as above). Here's a peek at the Un-edited HUNTER CLASS: http://www.thele.com/thelegames/files/hunter.pdf

In the meantime, I am going to expand my library of book. This month I am releasing my first Mutants and Masterminds Superlink book -- Super villains!

Whoohoo! I never thought all this would be so much fun.
