New d20 Software Tools Posted At GMMastery.com

Two free new eTools enhancements for the NPC Essentials book have been posted in our downloads section. Randomly generate a complete NPC profile, or individual entries from the charts in the book which have been converted to eTools format by Brian Gragg.

In the NPCE Charts zip file download there's nothing there. I like the format of the xml file, though it doesn't export the spell book. Any advice?

Thanks!

Hi Enceladus,

Thanks for downloading the charts. Which archive (patched or unpatched) did you download? I just went to GMMastery.com, downloaded both zipped archives, and successfully unzipped a folder with 48 .tbl files in each. Perhaps try again.

I'm not an eTools expert, so I'll send your spell book export question to the volunteer who created these files and see if he has any insight.

Glad you like the xml file.

I don't know why but for some reason XP's built in zip was not seeing them. It wouldn't even unzip what might have been there. Oh well.

I used power archiver and there they were! Dropped in my table folder and worked like a champ. Pretty sweet. Thanks very much!

p.s. I liked what I saw so I went and bought that NPC Essentials book for the hell of it as well. :) Very cool. Any word on when the encounter book will be done?

Thanks again!!

Glad to hear the zips worked out. I've sent an email re:spell exports and will let you know if I find anything out.

Also glad to hear you like the NPC Essentials book! Encounter Essentials should be out late-Spring.

Missing Spells

I put the NPC_Sheet for etools together. The spells are not output, mostly because there was no spell spot on the NPC Essentials small sized character sheet. I could add it if we knew where it should be placed. Maybe it should print known spells for Sorcerers (are Bards and Rangers the same way?) and prepared spells for Wizards and Clerics?

I don't know where to output the list since the layout already fills a 4x6 area. I could add an additional page (a second 4x6 card). What would you like?

I kind of figured for real complex NPC's you could just use a standard type of character sheet from ETools instead of a mini one.
