New Daylight Savings Time updates....

All I know is if I make an appointment in Outlook, it shows up in my Treo an hour earlier. If I make an appointment on my Treo, it shows up in Outlook an hour earlier.

And stay out of elevators for awhile.

See you all later. I'll be hiding under a rock for awhile.

:)

Did you update your Treo as well? Are you connecting to an Exchange server? If so did your Admin's do the update for it yet?

I updated the Treo in addition to the computer (I'm synced with Outlook at home, not Exchange).

I found the answer though here: http://kb.palm.com/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE?New,Kb=PalmSupportKB,ts=Palm_External2001,Case=obj(42093)

Apparently, it was because I was using the cellular network for the time, not set to Eastern on the Treo. I switched off Use Network Time and set the phone to Eastern, and now everything seems to be okay.

I have to start thinking globally. The Treo adjusts all your appointment times if you move into another time zone after it resets to the local time. There appears to be some sort of glitch with that and the updates and time changes.

I guess we'll see on Sunday if the world comes to an end. :)

Modern elevators have different modes for when people are coming into the building and when they leave. Since when it's the morning, or time to return from lunch, everyone wants to go in. And when it's quitting time, or the start of lunch, people want to leave the building. So they need to know what time it is.
Yeah, I know. Plus ours has one with a security card that needs to be swiped during evening hours; all other elevators shut down during that time.

Just weird to hear the guys talk about downloading a patch off the internet for these boxes on long cables...

This time change was the stupidest thing ever. :]
Must... resist... forum-rules-violating political statement.... :uhoh:

Be aware for all you Palm users ... Palm has released updates for this change as well (just got my notification in the email today).

I spent some time testing our servers for Y2k7 compliance. :p It went well, I'd say (we're quite luckily that we only a little more than a dozen). I was a little peeved there's wasn't an automatic update for our Win2k servers but the manual update was quite easy. Red Hat Enterprise was even easier.

Well, nothing has exploded yet. Anyone try any elevators? ;)

Well the HVAC in my building, which is totally automated, has gone nuts. It is 90 or higher in most rooms. From what I can see it got that hot sometime yesterday morning…
Thankfully I insisted the cooling for the server rooms not be tied into the building’s systems. But we have 1000s of animals here that ARE on the buildings cooling…

:(

Didn't plummet to my death this morning, so I guess they're OK ...

Funny story... one of the players in my group spent the previous week writing technical documentation for people in his company on how to prep their PCs for the time change, and reminding them to set their clocks forward.... then he was late to our Sunday game because he forgot to set his own clock :D

Today I received a postcard from Verizon Wireless telling me to update my device for the time change - by March 11th. I guess it was the follow up to the email they sent me advising me of the same thing the afternoon of 3/11. :)

In all fairness, they did send me a text message about this five days before the deadline.
