Here are three new low-level spells focused on the theme of dreams. Are the levels adjusted right? Detect Dreams Divination Level: 0 Target: One sleeping creature Components: V, S Duration: See text Range: Touch Casting Time: Standard action Saving Throw: Will negates Spell Resistance: Yes By sitting next to a sleeping person, you peer into their dreams. You immediately know if the target or anyone with a close friendship to the target is being attacked in their dreams (i.e. such as by a night hag). Also, it is possible to learn a single fact about the target’s motives, though this is only a vague impression and lacks specific information such as names. Some examples include: A lost love, patriotic loyalty, deep desire for revenge, guilt over a crime, torn between two options, etc. An unwilling target receives a saving throw. Lengthy Sleep Enchantment (Compulsion) [Mind-affecting] Level: 1 Target: One sleeping creature Components: V, S Duration: See text Range: Touch Casting Time: Standard action Saving Throw: Will negates Spell Resistance: Yes This spell lengthens the amount of time a sleeping creature slumbers. If the creature is sleeping naturally, then it will sleep in for 1d4 hours +10 minutes/level provided it is not awoken. If the creature was put to sleep magically, this spell doubles the duration of such magic, though after the duration of the original sleep spell expires, the creature can be awoken by sounds as normal. Sanctified Dreams Abjuration Level: 2 Target: One willing sleeping creature Components: V, S Duration: 8 hours Range: Touch Casting Time: Standard action Saving Throw: No Spell Resistance: No This spell protects the dreams of the creature touched. The creature gains +4 on all saving throws made against those attempting to attack it in its dreams (i.e. a nightmare’s attack). In addition, if the name of a given enemy is spoken during the casting, the dreaming creature gains +6 on all saves against attacks from that particular enemy. However, to gain this bonus , the enemy’s name given at birth must be known to the caster.
