I want to make an Epic version of Call Lightning. Call Ion Storm Evocation [Electricity] Spellcraft DC: ??? Components: V,S Casting Time: 1 round Range: 300 feet Effect: One or more 30-ft.-long vertical lines of lightning. Duration: 1 min./level Saving Throw: Reflex half Spell Resistance: Yes Once this spell is cast you may call down bolts of lightning equal to your caster level (maximum 30 bolts). Each 5-foot-wide, 30-foot-long, vertical bolt of lightning deals 10d6 points of electricty damage. The blot of lightning flashes down in a vertical stroke at whatever target point you choose within the spell's range (measured from your position at the time). Any creature in the target square or in the path of the bolt is affected. You need not call a bolt of lightning immediately; other actions, even spellcasting, can be performed. While the spell is active, you can call down a bolt as a free action, calling down as many bolts as you wish. However, you can only call down a total number of bolts equal to your caster level (max 30), and no creature can take damage twice from this in one round, regardless of the number of bolts that strike the target. If you are outdoors and in a stormy area - a rain shower, clouds and wind, hot and cloudy conditions, or even a tornado - each bolt deals 10d10 points of electricty damage instead of 10d6. This spell functions indoors or underground but not underwater. --------------------------- As you can see, I based this heavily off of 3.5 Call Lightning. Call lightning does 3d6 in a 3rd level slot; Call Lightning Storm deals 5d6 out of a 5th level slot, so it makes sense that the Epic version should do 10d6 out of a "10th" level slot. Plus, that's what the energy seed gives you. I have no clue how to price the rest of the spell, except that Quicken should be in there for the free action calls. I think this would be a cool spell. Surrounded by energy, the caster can choose to target a single target each round, dealing lots of damage over time, or bring down massive wrath to up to 30 creatures at once. Any help would be gratefully appreciated. And yes, I copy/pasted this from my post on the Wizard Boards.
