I’ve been a En World user for a little while now. I've mostly been a lurker, but I found a new gaming group here, learned all about DnD 4.0, and have read a ton of other cool gaming stuff here. Now’s my chance to return the favor to you all, and post something new and, hopefully, interesting. There is a new website for gamers out there called Epic Words (www.epicwords.com). The beta release debuted at GenCon, and it’s free. I don't think it's a competitor to En World, so I hope this post gets approved. In a nutshell, it’s a collection of web tools like: blogs, wikis, loot lists, etc, organized into Campaign groups. It’s a neat way to keep players involved and excited between games. It’s a handy place for references (NPC lists, session summaries – whatever you want), but mostly, it’s really fun to go back and read how your group’s story unfolded, and the adventures you’ve all had. (My old group did that on paper – electronic is much better) So here’s kinda how it works: say you play a Barbarian in high-fantasy campaign on Wednesday, and GM a space-fantasy campaign on Fridays. With your one account, you can post to the character blog as the Barbarian for your high-fantasy group, and then jump over to the space-campaign to add some setting notes to a wiki, and see what your players have been doing. There’s emails and RSS feeds too, in case you want to get a notified when some just made a post. Check it out if you get a chance! It’s made by player, for players, and they are looking for new users to test it out and give suggestions. Cheers!
