It seems to have been left off, as opposed to other simillar spells wich Paladins get, simply because it was a class ability. It also seems that it was a class ability only because thats the way the class was done before. Putting it on the list made it feel more consistant with 3rd edition, and left room for additional smites per day, or a good Will save, both ideas I have toyed with. Another way to do it would be to allow Paladins to burn a turning attempt for it. There are simillar feats and abilities, and there should not be a large gap in the number of daily uses from one Paladin to the next. *Waves wand of balance*</blockquote>
