This is a one time announcement concerning a new podcast I am co-hosting called Chronicles: The Pathfinder Podcast. Chronicles: PFPC is the newest podcast on the D20 radio network of shows which focus on RPGs and gaming. The subject matter of Chronicles makes the podcast different from others you may have listened to in the past. The show is divided roughly into two parts: The first part is intended for a general audience of both players and GMs and covers RPG news and release discussions for the Paizo product lines as well as discussions concerning Paizo’s world of Golarion and other Pathfinder related topics. The subject matter of the first part of the podcast is something you are probably quite familiar with in gaming related podcasts. The second part of the podcast, however, is very different. We strongly caution players against listening to the second part of the podcast and the segment is clearly identified during the show, because the podcast can RUIN your gaming experience. The second part of the podcast, the Chronicle, is intended for consumption by all of the FRPG GMs and DMs on ENWorld. We review and discuss Paizo adventure products: Modules, Adventure Paths and Pathfinder Society Scenarios in spoilerific detail. In fact, if we have not thoroughly spoiled the module or adventure being discussed by the end of this segment of the show, we will have failed at our objective. Our discussion of the featured adventure is not confined to just reviewing the adventure, but discusses potential problems and how to deal with them, how the adventure may be improved, changed, altered or otherwise integrated into your campaign either as a one-off or as part of a longer story arc or adventure path. If you are a DM or GM? This is the part of the podcast that is aimed squarely at you. It’s the kind of thing we post about on ENWorld often and it is one of the things I have always loved most about this site. While of particular interest to players of the Pathfinder Role Playing Game, those DMs of 3.xx of 4E who wish to use Paizo adventure products in their own Dungeons and Dragons campaigns should find lots to interest them in the adventure discussion segment of the show, too. The first episode of the podcast features a review and discussion of the Paizo module Crypt of the Everflame, an introductory module to the PFRPG for characters of 1st to 2nd level. You can find this and subsequent episodes of the podcast at our right here. Discussions of the podcast and any hints or suggestions you may have can be made here. Episode #2 will feature a discussion with Jason Bulmahn, the lead designer of PFRPG and the author of Crypt of the Everflame and the module’s sequel Masks of the Living God. Again, the subject matter of the discussion is again, very adventure centric and principally aimed at the adventure which is the featured adventure in the episode. The people I’ve come to know and discussed RPGs and gaming over the years here on ENWorld are precisely the people I’m making this podcast for: ENWorld DMs and GMs are the intended audience for this podcast. So give us a try and drop me a note or PM if there is something you would like to see or change, or just a comment of encouragement – or discouragement, for that matter.
