HOWEVER, I had need of such an icon last night and ended up going with the Legal Icon to tell someone that the link on the front page lead to a porn site.

The problem with an "Urgent" tag is the same as with "Attention". It will tend to sit there, saying the thing is urgent for far longer than the thing really will be urgent.

Too true, but I suppose that if people edited their threads and took it off after the situation was addressed it would be ok. I wonder about maybe a MODERATOR tag?

or mods could edit peoples threads and remove the tag

That was klinda what I was thinking - sort of an either or situation. The mod or the poster could remove it in that case.

I'm pretty sure nearly everyone would consider their post to be "urgent". We have a moderator "Attention" tag (as Creamsteak has pointed out).
