New Published Adventures?

I'm not seeing any adventures on the D&D products calendar. What gives? Are they not making any adventures any time soon, or do the adventures just not get as much build up as the books? I like being able to buy a nice printed booklet and a map.

Probably a bit of both. At least in my area, the H1-E3 adventures have not sold well at all. HS1 did a bit better, but not much. I would imagine that Ravenloft will either have an adventure in its product release, or there will be one published for it at the time of release. However, I'm not really anticipating another full 1 - 30 set of adventures being released for retail sale. Instead, I think you'll have to turn to DDi to get new "published" adventures.

I have no actual information regarding WotC's plans though, so this is just my speculation.

Something else to consider is that WotC seems to be moving towards boxed sets like the DM Kit and Monster Vault that have adventures inside.

I get the impression that adventures are hard to sell on their own, so selling them as a "value add" for boxed sets seems like a good idea to me.

I started DMing with the DM Kit. The included adventure was very cool. I'm moving on to the adventure in the Monster Vault next, but no clue what I'm doing after that.

One option (assuming that you are not comfortable with designing your own adventures) would be to look to DDi as there are a lot of published adventures there (including an entire 1 - 30 campaign). There are a few that are not behind the paywall (at least they used to be) but not many. The downside of course is the cost of DDi, but it might be worth it for even a 1 month subscription as you can then go and look through all the adventures and download those that appeal to you.

Next year there's one super-adventure "[ame="http://www.amazon.com/Madness-Gardmore-Abbey-Dungeons-Supplement/dp/0786958723"]Madness at Gardmore Abbey[/ame]", scheduled for a September 2011 release.

This is where Paizo beats WoTC into the dirt. Their adventure path series and individual adventurers insure that when people do play, they have a wide variety of material to play with. WoTC seems bound and determined that if it's not going to be a big seller to avoid it at all cost. For those who point that the APs and other material from Paizo are huge railroads, you have not been paying the same attention to the offerings of the DDI which are, in my opinion, much worse in many regards including their basic encounter encounter encounter set up.

Yeah, I've got a DDI account, plus loads of adventures from a torrent, just not sure what I'm going to do. There are a few recent ones like .. I think it was called Bark at the Moon that I would love to see published in a nice booklet, include a map (not made from Dungeon Tiles), round out a few more details. None of the stuff I've seen in stores or on Amazon for heroic tier catches my eye, so I'll probably end up running Bark at the Moon.

I mostly agree with this. Paizo at least publishes adventures, the art is universally good, and they have some great fluff in them. It's not just adventures you don't see on the product list, there is very little product of any kind in 2011 right now.
