[QUOTE="Terramotus, post: 4547205, member: 7220"] I worked this ritual up for my NPCs to use in my current game, and I liked the idea of it enough to have one of them teach it to the party wizard, so I wrote it up as a full ritual, and decided to share it with you all. It's a nice little ritual, I think - sort of the poor man's Sending, but with utility that it doesn't have. Possible uses include guards using this to alert the command post that there's a problem, getting off a quick alert without the need for a 10 minute casting time in the moment of need, and creating a watch for Jimmy Olson so he can alert Superman when he needs help. ;) Comments and criticisms are welcome. Both the sender and the receiver must be present at the time of the ritual’s casting. However, the ritual can be completed with an object as the sender, so that the object may be given to another person, who would then activate the object with the appropriate command word. The ritual’s maximum range is determined by your Arcana check result.
