New Rules!!! :)

Scribble

First Post
I love new optional rules.

Things that you can add into an existing game. For Instance:

RR- Ritual Magic, and tattoo magic, and rune magic.
BOVD- Sacrificing rules, and a bunch of others in there actually..
Fairs, tournements, and Taverns- Drinking rules and games.. cool
BOEM- Soul Magic and Magic poisons...

See what I mean? Rules that probably won't make a dramatic change to the way the game is played but add a neat new element to the game...

What other new rules do you guys like?

What books are chock full of em?

Wow... I was going to start a thread like this.

You've already named a few of my favorites: Ritual magic, soul magic, magic poisons

Some others:
Wild Spellcraft: Wild magic spells and mishaps
Portals and Planes: Planar minglings and malignancies, portal qualities, planar pathways
Book of Dragons: Custom dragon advancement
Monsters Handbook: Customizing monster abilities
Hyperconscious: Mindscapes combat
Choasitech: Mutations, equimpment, and modifications (though the crafting rules are bent)
Path of (X): Legendary Classes
Book of Eldritch Might III: Alternate scrying rules.
Second World Sourcebook: "Bindings" magic system, d20 modern adaptation
Masters of Arms: Maneuver system
Unearthed Arcana: Action Points, reducing LA, bloodlines
Plot & Poison: Power components, living items
Arsenal: Magical & Psionic weaponry
Quintessential Sorcerer: Sorcerous qualities, truenames
Quintessential Wizard: Wizard's staves
Quintessential Psion: Psionic accords, echoes, fragments, and parasites.
Encyclopaedia Arcane - Constructs: Custom construct building
Artificer's Handbook: Improved magic item construction & costing

Since my game is based on AU, with some of the PrCs and options from Swashbuckling Adventures, the Complete Book of Eldritch Might, bits of Relics & Rituals (I & II), and Skull & Bones, I guess you could say nearly my whole campaign is optional rules... ;)

That depends... did you ever come up with a 3.5 version? ;)
(Where'd that clump of hair in my hands come from...?)

Er.. well.. Not yet. But soon. Really. I mean it's only been 16 months since I released anything.

(Ow, my head.)

Heros of High Favor Elves: ley line rules.

Second World Sourcebook: "Bindings" magic system, d20 modern adaptation

Path of (X): Legendary Classes

These things sound intriging just from the name... Anyone care to shed a little light on what they are?

Ley Lines I'm assuming is rules for bonus power to spells if on a ley line?
