true summoer I cut and pasted this so everyone could see it ------------------------------------------------------------ My changes to summoner (revised) Requirements: No change Class skills: no change Table, no change save the special listings Summoner still can only use spells with his/her patron's abilities/type/subtype Improved Summoning: As a summoner casts a summon spell, it is considered one level higher than the type he/she is casting. Thus a summon Monster II is considered III, and so on. His caster level is also increased by +1. This ability takes effect at 1st level. At 4th level his caster level is increased to +2, and he now can summon 1d6 monsters of his patrons type in place of the usual die type. At 8th level his caster level is now +4 and he can summon 2d4 monsters. Strengthen summonings: At 5th all his monsters summoned, increase by 1 HD and gain a +2 bonus to their Str, Con, and Dex scores. At 9th level they are increased by +4 HD, but their bonus remains the same. Power of the Summoner: At 6th level, when a summoner uses a Planar Ally or Planar Binding spell, the Summoner will automatically be able to summon double the normal HD available to that spell. Also the creature so summoned will not have to have any written agreement since their patron already has jusdiction over this charge. Finally the duration of these spells is changed to permanent until dismissed. Any attempts to dispel such creatures summoned will increase the DC by +6. Bind summoning: Gained at 10th level, this ability allows the caster to bind one creature to his physical self. The creature is allow a Fortitude saving throw, (DC 10+the summoner's level+Cha modifier) Success, the binding fails and the caster take 1d6/HD of the creature. Failure, the creature is bound into the summoner. The summoner gains the type/subtype as well as +1 enhancement bonus to his ability scores for every 4 HD of the creature (max is 20) This ability lasts for 1 minute per point of Cha the summoner has. (Mininium one minute) After the time is elasped(sp), the creature is then dismissed. The summoner is considered exhausted and can not cast any spells for a full day. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ have you actually playtested this yet? it seems pretty powerfull to me, especially with some of the feats available. I'm just curious because it seems to have the potential to rapidly disrupt the campaign.
