Okay, let me get this straight: you want to create a lesser wall of force, right? Here are some thoughts on that: Since we are obviously emulating the wall of force spell, I would add material component: some powder made from a gem. I assume that the rest of the spells listed in wall of force also affect this spell? If so: please list them properly. Duration: seems a bit short, but then again it can also take a lot of punishment. Still, for a single round spell I might be tempted to move this to 3rd-level. After all there are other force-based spells there already. Although these don't appear in the PHB 3.5, but still...it could be an option. Also, I would add Dismissable to duration, because a block of force is going to be very unconventional if it's between you and escape, or even worse: you and your allies. And a full round (let's not forget that it extends to your initiative on the next round) can seem like a very long time. I assume that the rest of the spells listed in wall of force also destroy it? If so, please list them as well. The casting time seems appropriate, but I would add that you can only activate this spell as a free action if you are under attack, or on your own turn as a standard action. This is in line with feather fall, which is essentially another "instant protection" spell, that requires a specific condition to cast as a free action. Otherwise this spell could potentially be abused in a variety of ways if it was simply "1 free action". Also that "under attack" part requires some reviewing, but I can't figure out a proper wording for it right now. Then some other details: what happens if the caster moves before the force shield duration ends? Will it just burst like a bubble and end? Will it move with the caster? Range 0 seems okay, but what does it actually mean? Does the spell cover one side of the caster in a field that emulates his shape or does it stand infront of him? How large is it? Can you throw a grenade-type of weapon over it, which would affect the caster once it lands behind him? Okay, I think that was most of it. It's a handy looking spell. Although I would probably list it as "lost lore" or something like that, because it's also quite powerful.
