New updated combined sales figures thread!

Well, that was fun

This is an updated sales figure listing for RPGNow, in an attempt to "chart" the top lists at RPGNow. It would be helpful if e-Publishers would post their current sales figures so that everyone can compare; however, it is fully understood if you choose not to share this information. I will be editing this "chart" as more info is posted.

Please do NOT include free products or units sold anywhere other than RPGNow. Please provide (to make my life easier as a try and compile a combined chart) each product's position in RPGNow's all time, all categories bestseller list, the number of units sold and a combined total (all units sold). Thanks for you help!

[Note - I see some inconstencies below regarding sales figures and rankings - there are some products which, according to the sales figures, should rank higher, such as Librum Equitis Compiled. I imagine that there's an explanation for that!]

Are you subtracting the Jan-02 freebies from the totals? If you just use the sales "All Time" for a product, it includes any free copies sent out as Jan-2002 sales. (You'll note in the earnings column these copies are FREE)

78 Joe's Book of Enchantment -- 229
?? Character Customization -- 133

I think I'd remember sending out 200 free copies of LE Compiled! :D - You could be right, though: it's been out a long while.

Thanks for the figures - I'll add them into the post above.

I'm the culprit for LECompiled.

Indeed, over 200 free copies were sent out once Compiled was released, to all the people who had purchased both LE1 and LE2 up to that date. LE1 was then removed from the sales venue at that point.

3ednd.com:

The Elements of Monsters (TEoM): 42
d20 Mastery Book 1 (FTB1): 14

Here's something that may be of interest to people thinking of _not_ putting their products on RPGNow:

My sales of TEoM were growing steadily after the first week of release, then I was asked to remove my products from RPGNow because I had a link back to my site. I complied.

As soon as I removed my products from RPGNow, my sales dropped to _zero_. I haven't had a single sale since then. The sales figures you see here are all from December of 2003. I removed my products (couldn't have happened at a worse time) in the last week of December. After that, not a single sale.

I think this dynamic only really comes into play when you are a very small publisher (like 3ednd.com) and just starting out. Being on RPGNow gives you a "baseline" credit and trust that you just can't get alone when nobody knows who you are.
