New weapon

So I was sitting up at 2am, watching Animal Planet, when this idea hit me. Please critique:

The Gnomish Repeater.

After tinkering a great many weeks on a standard repeating crossbow, the Gnomish Repeater was born. This crossbow works very similar to a repeating crossbow, with a couple of exceptions. The bolts are stored in a 10-bolt drum on top of the weapon. Also, the crossbow is notched and loaded using a simple hand-pump lever underneath. Due to it's added weight and drum, the range on this crossbow is somewhat shorter than normal crossbows.

How much would this weapon cost, do you think? Would it be an exotic weapon, or would you let gnomes know how to use it, exclusively, and anyone else would have to spend a feat to become proficient?

Isn't there something similar in sword and fist?

Anywho, I think it is fine. I had drow 6 shooter hand crossbows in previous additions.

They were something 1d4/20/x2 range 30 feet.

I would make changing the "drum" a full round action.
Price it out at about 100gp.
Make it exotic but martial for gnomes.

Just my 2 cents.

1. I was thinking something like 300-500gp

2. Yes, I'd make it an Exotic Weapon for everyone, but prefered by gnomes

3. Like a normal repeating crossbow, it'd take 1 full round to change the drum.

4. Drums would be reuseable

5. The hand pump simultaneously pulls the string back and lowers the next bolt into place (exactly like a shotgun, only different)

Ok, another question. How much would a full drum weigh? An empty one? In other words, if the whole gizmo is ten poounds, how much of that is due to the drum?

(One of my players has a halfling rogue who uses a hand crossbow, because her strength is so low she can't carry very much gear. I think she would like this, but she would want a few backup drums, and I'm not sure she could carry that much.)
