You might remember that, a few months ago, there was a story here on EN World about the Tails of Equestria role-playing game. Based on My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, the game was produced by a European games company called River Horse, under license from Hasbro. While European customers could order the products directly from River Horse, North American customers would find the product line being distributed via Ninja Division, under their Shinobi 7 imprint. Soda Pop Miniatures (another part of Ninja Division) also took online orders from North American customers, as this archived page shows.
Today, however, going to that same webpage results in a 404 error.
The sudden loss of all of their Tails of Equestria materials was strange enough - particularly when they didn't reappear after a few days had passed - that I reached out to Soda Pop Miniatures to ask what was going on. Here's the response I received:
That's fairly definitive, and remains the only concrete confirmation of the company's ceasing to distribute this title that I can find. To date, I'm unaware of any formal announcement from either Ninja Division or River Horse Games regarding this state of affairs, let alone why it happened. There's no word of any other company stepping up to distribute the game in North America. One thing I can state, with reasonable certainty, is that the Tails of Equestria line is not concluding; River Horse recently announced a new adventure for the game, titled Judge Not by the Cover.
I've reached out to River Horse directly asking for clarification on what's going on; I'll be sure to post it here if I receive a reply.
