Of course my own worlds tend to be in places where a literate populace is replacing the bard as the primary means of informational dissemination. So newspapers are a paramount piece of the process. (Reformation/Counter Reformation and Steampunk.)

Most towns have at least a weekly, and major cities will have several competing papers.
