From what I remember it does differ a lot from the books, but works really well and keeps the "best" bits. The problem with any direct conversion from the books is that the pulp short stories and films have very different demands. Some stuff works okay on the page but would be absolutely awful on film. The second is so-so, but I'd still rather there be more not-very-good films of the same type. There's not many watchable, but not-very-good, fantasy films. We could do with more.nikolai.</blockquote>
