No Elf and Dwarf classes

I wouldn't have minded seeing them, but I wouldn't have used them in my games.

It's something that can be easily added in a later supplement (or 3rd party product) anyway, for those who desire it.

If you're going to have an elf or a dwarf class, then you need a human. Doesn't much make sense.

I thought the UA racial paragons were okay, but there's no need to fit this kind of thing in core.

No, the quick and dirty way to simulate it in 5E will be to select the Elf race, the Elf class and the Elf theme. Then, you'll essentially have simulated race-as-class.

I think he probably meant that they had been in the playtest document at one point, but have now been removed.
