#include b5season5rantinfo.h Actually, they didn't compress the story that much to fit it into the fourth season. The original plan was to have the episode where Sheridan gets interrogated (4.18 IIRC) being either the first episode of season 5 or the last of season 4 - so that's maybe 3-5 episodes worth of compression. I'm pretty sure that Earth would have been retaken by episode 6, just like the main thing between seasons 3 and 4 were taken care of by episode 4.6. So season 5 was always supposed to be about the building of the ISA and the burgeoning teep conflict. We still would have gotten the Minbari civil war, and the Centauri weirdness. We might not have gotten Day of the Dead or A View from the Gallery, however. What did hurt season 5 was that Claudia Christian left the show. Instead we got Tracy Scoggins as Lockley, which meant they had to introduce a new character (and I don't think the link to Sheridan was a good idea). From what I hear, the original plan was to have Ivanova, vulnerable after Marcus's death and having a hate-on the size of Russia for Psi-corps, be the one to get heavily involved in Byron's cult with Lyta's role in things being more peripheral.
