D&D 5E Nods to the Past in the 5e Monster Manual

Legend
Well, I finally got a chance to look at the MM in detail, and I can say I love it.

One of the things I am particularly enamored of was all the nods to D&D lore tucked in the book. From the quotes to the sidebars to the monster descriptions themselves, there are dozens of classic references and nods to the past.

A few that stuck out.

* The Demilich entry quotes the Text on Acerack's tomb.
* Likewise, the Vampire entry quotes the Tome of Strahd.
* And White Plume Mountain's infamous riddle is in the Sphinx section.
* Fonkin Hoddypeaks and Emirkol the Chaotic are both quoted.
* References to Maure Castle and the Temple of Elemental Evil/Hommlet are there as well.
* Oh, the Aaracroka entry is a giant love letter to the Rod of Seven Parts adventure.
* I spotted two Eberron references; one to House Orien in the Pegasus section and other to the Korranburg Chronicles in the Grell one.
* The Blight's section ties those monster's origins to the Sunless Citadel (and Nightfang Spire), fitting since they first appeared there.
* BREE-YARK!
* Additionally, the Devil's section has a list of all the Ruler's of Hell, including past ones like Bel and Tiamat!

I'm sure there are more, any one else find one?

- Lord Soth in the Death Knight entry

- the Forgotten Realms sidebar in the Orcs section

There were some random ones in the PHB, too, such as the extended use of the Axe of the Dwarven Lords in one of the Divination spells.
