Non-gamer looking to game again

Thought I would try this again, since the last go round didn't work out.

I am a 33-year-old guy in Herndon, Viriginia, who would like to game maybe once or twice a month. Last time I gamed was in high school, so it has been a while, but I have continued to buy (maybe "collect" is a better word) rulebooks.

Type of games: D&D 3.5, or D20 fantasy/sci-fi, or GURPS 3, generally. I think I like the way Rich Burlew describes his games (http://www.giantitp.com/tg0006.html), though it doesn't have to be so "intense." I'm interested in playing, but I wouldn't mind eventually trying to DM a one-shot or two.

Personal stats: I work for a software company, have a non-gamer fiancee, and I'm starting to get into running. I also like live theater and film. These are all things that will limit my gaming to once or twice a month. My friends tend to be easy-going, intelligent, funny people who are not easily offended. :) I don't smoke, and drink casually. I would prefer to game with folks I would be comfortable hanging out with...preferrably within five-ten years of my own age. Note: behavior that is abusive, racist/hateful, or intolerant makes it likely that I won't be comfortable with you.

I do try to be on time and considerate, but I won't always be able to react to last-minute changes of schedule if the group does this frequently.

If you are interested, I am DMing a campaign near Leesburg, which meets every other week on Saturday evenings. We are an adult group all in our twenties and thirties, and we welcome new and returning gamers. If you are interested, drop me a line and we'll go from there.

Hammerforge,

I've been talking to Storm Raven about joining his game, and we've started working out character and plot. Thanks for the offer, though, and I'll be in touch if anything happens to Storm Raven's game (black hole, gremlin infestation, EPA declares it a Superfund site, etc.).
