The new Unearthed Arcana has one as well I think.

Yep, there's one in UA. AEG's Mercenaries also has one (in the form of a "toolkit" class that can be used to swap ranger elements in and out).

Actually, no, there is not not one in Unearthed Arcana. The non-spellcasting Ranger variant (along with the non-spellcasting Paladin) is in Complete Warrior, and is not OGC.

Are you sure about UA? I've been disappointed before, by the CW ranger.

I know UA's prestige ranger isn't non-magical :( OGL UA can't come fast enough!

[Edit: Hmm... note that the original poster asked for "non-spellcasting" not "non-magical". There is a difference.]

I have UA in front of me. The Ranger variants are:

The Planar Ranger - Spellcasting "is largely unchanged from that of the standard ranger".

The Urban Ranger - works in cities. Gets different spells because of that.

"Other" variant Ranger: Trades the combat style progression for limited Wild Shape and the barbarian's Fast Movement.

Under the Class Feature variants...
Ranger: Favored Terrain instead of Favored Enemy

Under Prestigious Prestige Classes
Prestige Ranger: requires calm animals as a divine spell to become one, advances the existing class ability.

I suppose you could *build* a non-spellcasting, woodsy, Ranger-like Expert using the "Generic Classes" option.

Those are the Ranger-specific variants. Everything else is other classes, or a systemic change, and so on.

And UA is OGL right now. It is just not expected to be in the SRD, because it doesn't need to be. (At least that is the last I saw on that line of thinking)

Can someone point me to an OGC non-spellcasting 3.5 ranger variant?

Might I ask why it needs to be OGC? Could you write your own or base one off of a House Rule? I'm sure there have to be a 100+ Ranger versions on EN World alone...

It needs to be OGC so I can re-use it. Sure, I can write up my own variant, but I'd rather not have to fork any more than necessary--the setting already forks enough.

There is also a non-spellcasting option in FFG's WildScape.

WildScape also offers additional "Combat Styles" for Rangers to choose among.

The non-spellcasting Rangers in WildScape gain additional abilities based on the Combat Style. The book lists added abilities for the non-spellcasting Ranger for each of the new combat styles, as well as the two original combat styles (archery & two-weapon fighting).
