It has been brought to my attention that there are minor holes in the security of the news system with regards to the visibility of press releases. With the ENnies rapidly approaching I must prepare the voting code for it first and so this problem will remain for awhile.
Specifically, it is possible to up the visibility of a press release from article to feature or leaderboard status after the article is approved for publication. This has already been done twice and the news staff has had to go back and undo it.
What constitutes a feature or a leaderboard item is the sole discretion of the news staff. Once an article has been approved you are not to change the settings.
IF YOU DO your press release will be pulled from the queue and you will be banned until the bug can be repaired. Considering my workload, that could be a very long ban.
