So what better way to break up the monotony of a summer afternoon than to have pea to marble sized chunks of ice rain down out of the sky? Yup, we had a good old fashioned hailstorm this afternoon, with appropriate amounts of thunder, lightening, lashing winds and even a tornado warning for an adjacent county. Not big news in Kansas where I mostly grew up, but a bit more... personal than the weather normally gets with us here in MA. ;) Went out and took some pictures... I wish I already had a kid old enough to show the hail and break a peice apart and look at the rings... it's such neat stuff. In related news, I have a BRAVE pug! :D The hubby may pine for the German Shepard of his youth and cast asperations on Lilac's canininity (I don't think thats a word) but this little smushed face mutant has shown no anxiety in the face of fireworks and midnight thunderstorms and was calmer in the hail and lightening than I was. A little sad looking at the noise, but a few jolly words from me and she put it aside as not to worry about and started wanting to play tug. German shepards, ha! Those 'manly dogs' would be trying to dig their way under the couch! :p (The opinion of german shepards and their bravery expressed in this post reflects only the personal expereince of and annectdotal reports recieved by the writer. 100% correlation with your german shepard is neither expressed nor implied. No manly dogs were harmed in the writing of this post...) Kahuna Burger
