[NWN] Shall we use the Community Expansion Pack (CEP)

Thought I'd take a poll to decide this. The Community Expansion Pack adds a whole lot of cool stuff to NWN. The only trouble with it is that it is a big download.

Check out the official web page on it and browse through some of the stuff you get (if you don't already know about it) and then please vote in the poll. We'll decide democratically whether or not to adopt it.

I think its a great idea. Yes its a big download... But even I have it(dialup user). I simply had a friend download it for me that has broadband and burn it to disk. Pretty much everyone knows somebody with BB these days.

I dont know of any downside to using it, other that the big download, and that you can get somebody to do for you probably.

Having Used it, played with it and generally frothed over it I would have to say a definitive ABSO-FREAKIN-LUTELY

you'd need to add some of the CEP items to the various merchants and if your interested I have created +1 to +5 versions (basic enhancement versions) of all the weapons and Armours provided in the CEP Morrus I can send them on if you'd like them.

Yeah, it has just occured to me that to implement CEP into the module itself would require an awful lot of work - so many little things.

I'm torn:

1) Part of me says, "go for it" because I have broadband - what do I care? It's no problem for me personally to get and install.

2) The other part of me says, "Are you planning to grow this site beyond its little collection of players right now?" if we only have plans for the forseeable future to keep on the same server, set at 16 people maximum at one time, then this is not an issue.

3) One small nagging part of me reminds me that the more expansions, extras, and options we add to this system, the more buggy and lag-inducing it will be. The community expansion pack itself may not cause problems, but the thorough implementation of it could possibly send us right back to Laggsville, in the Province of Laggerton, in the nation of Laggestonia.

I have already downloaded CEP (although I need to get the 1.01 patch), and I have broadband, so that isn't a problem for me...

Nobody will mind new added features. But as Henry said, just beware of compatibility issue and increase of lag.

Most of those new features will have to be added by hand, so that depend how much time you want to spend on it.

With the original version restored, I realized that the whole eastern part was something that you had created yourself!!! I MISS that part and the Grove of the Stag was a truly beautiful area...

I´m with Henry on this one - I got 8 mb DSL so downloading is not a problem for me. I just think the module and nwn is fine as it is, so I voted no.
I´m afraid for lag-problems, as Henry pointed out. In Eurolaggia.Big problem area.
