OA spells question

Voadam

Legend
does 3e OA have the following spells: elemental burst(1), ice knife(2), steam breath(3), and magnetism(3)?

If so, are there any significant differences from the spells in 1e?

Thanks

They are very similar, though updated for 3e. The only major changes are that Magnetism only has the 'snatch items' ability, not the 'target someone you don't like' option, and Steam Breath now deals fire damage rather than 'water' damage.

I think I may have a misprint in my copy of OA. Under the elemental burst spell in my book, there is no effect for using the air element, just fire water, metal, wood, and stone.

Is that correct?

That is correct.
'Air' isn't an element in Chinese mythology, which the Wu Jen is based on.

Sign me up for a mythology that has fire water as an element!

a few follow ups

Thanks for the responses.

What are the mechanics for magnetism's Darth Vaderesque snatch weapon use?

Is Ice knife the same as the similar one in Tome and Blood (or was it Magic of Faerun)? In 1e you summoned a single knife you threw at an opponent and it caused impact damage and exploded for numbing cold within 5ft.

Is steam breath a cone? How long is it? Does it still require biting into a lit coal?

Disarm checks with a huge bonus.

Different to both. It is silly how the same spell has been converted to 3e in three different ways.

Yes; Short; you've confused it with Fire Breath.
