They are believed to be descended from normal tigers which interbred long ago with dragons (tatsu). Tora-tatsu have the form of a great cat, but their bodies are covered in brightly-colored scales, often red or gold. A pair of batlike wings sprout from their shoulders and their paws terminate in wicked talons. Their eyes are a brilliant jade green or crystal blue, the eyes of an intelligent being. On the few occasions the two species have met, tora-tatsu and manticores have displayed quite a distaste for the other.</p><p></p><p>Pounce (Ex): If a tora-tatsu leaps upon a foe during the first round of combat, it can make a full attack even if it has already taken a move action.</p><p></p><p>Improved Grab (Ex): To use this ability, the tora-tatsu must hit with a claw or bite attack. If it gets a hold, it can rake.</p><p></p><p>Rake (Ex): A tora-tatsu that gets a hold can make two rake attacks (+9 melee) with its hind legs for 1d8+3 damage each. If the tora-tatsu pounces on an opponent, it can also rake.</p><p></p><p>Breath Weapon (Ex): A tora-tatsu’s breath weapon is a line of fire (60 ft. long) which does 6d10 damage, Reflex save (DC 19) for half damage.
