Marius is a priest of Pharasma, the Goddess of fate, birth, and death. Marius is a well studied scholar and scribe; however his studies did not leave him much time for martial practice, thus explaining his slender and awkward frame. Marius’ magical prowess allows him to heal wounds or kill with the slightest touch. In addition to his gifted ability to heal, Marius can temporarily revive a spiritual animal to aid him in times of need. In some magic traditions these creatures are called reapers. In jest, a few colleagues refer to reapers summoned by Marius as “Grim’s reapers” much to his annoyance.</p><p></p><p>Given that death is the ultimate fate for all things, Marius can seem to be somewhat dark and broody. Most of his family is deceased, save for his younger brother Lazarus Grim. Lazarus is married to a woman named Zenovia and they have several children in Magnimar. Thus life goes on.</p><p></p><p>Marius' Varisian Tattoo covers his entire left arm and consists of images of plants near the shoulder that morph into bones as the tattoo ends near his wrist.</p><p></p><p>If asked, Marius’ reason for visiting Sandpoint is to study the Old Light, the ruined remains of an ancient lighthouse. While Marius is indeed interested in the Old Light, the reality is that he feels compelled to be in Sandpoint at this particular time.
