Here it is, the last, and most powerful of my five oriental giants, the Obsidian Giant. Comments are as allways welcome, as are constructive critizism. Giant, Obsidian Huge Giant (Fire, Spirit) Hit Dice: 20d8+160 (250 hp) Initiative: +2 (Dex) Speed: 40' (base 50') AC: 23 (-2 Size, +2 Dex, +6 natural, +7 Huge Great Armor) Attacks: Gargantuan Naginata +24/+19/+14 melee; or rock +15/+10/+5 ranged; or Large Wakizashi +24/+19/+14 melee Damage: Gargantuan Naginata 4d6+16; rock 2d6+11; large wakizashi 2d6+11 Face/Reach: 10' by 10'/20' (w. naginata.) Special Attacks: Rock throwing, spell-like abilities, Special Qualities: Rock catching, damage reduction 15/+3, spell resistance 28, fire subtype, electricity resistance 20, jade vulnerability, Saves: Fort +12, Ref +6, Will +6 Abilities: Str 32, Dex 15, Con 26, Int 18, Wis 19, Cha 18, Skills: Concentration +13, Iatsu Focus* +12, Knowledge (spirits) +9, Listen +9, Spot +9 Feats: Cleave, Great Ki Shout*, Large and in Charge*, Ki Shout*, Power Attack (-15/+15), * These feats are described in either OA or Sword and Fist. Climate/Terrain: Warm marsh, mountains and underground, Orgainization: Solitary, pair, family (3-5) or clan (10-50 plus one leader of 5th-10th level, plus one shugenja of 5-10th level) Challenge Rating: 19 Treasure: Double Standard Alignment: Usually Lawful Evil Advancement: By character class. Obsidian Giants are one of seven giant races native to the oriental continent of Rhiran (the other being: Bamboo, Highland, Jade, Lowland, the Ogre Mage, and the Wang Liang.) Obsidian Giants resemble imense humanoids with skin the color of charred obsidian, their eyes are red, and they lack hair, except for a long and thin grey beard in the males. Obsidian Giants have been known to reach an age of 800 years. Combat: Obsidian Giants are master combatants, using their Ki shout early and often to strike fear into their opponents hearts. They use their spell-like abilities to make themselves even more fearsome and to weaken and hurt those who are unaffected by their Ki-Shout. If at all possible, they enjoy setting up ambushes and pitfalls to wear down their opponents even more. Spell-Like Abilities: At will - Doom, Entropic Shield, Ghost Light, and Pass Without Trace; 3/day - Ancestral Vengance, Animate Dead, Apparition, Circle of Flame, Cure Critical Wounds, Dispel Magic, Haste, Hold Person, Know the Shadows, Levitate, Mental Weakness, and Produce Flame; 1/day - Earthquake, Heal, Horrid Wilting, Internal Fire, and True Seeing; These are as cast by a 20th level shugenja, save DC 14 plus spell level. Jade Vulnerability (Ex): Jade weapons ignor the obsidian giants damage reduction, and the giant takes double damage from such weapons. Skills: Obsidian Giants recieve skillpoints as if they where large creatures. Obsidian Giant Society: Obsidian Giants are xenophobic to the extreme, attacking and killing other sentient races on sight unless those creatures are in superior numbers. Fortunatly these imense giants are also very reclusive, settleing in swamps, mountain valleys, and caves deep beneath the earth. They sustain themselves on hunting and growing crops, they're also very fond of rice. Obsidian Giant Characters: Obsidian Giants favored class is shugenja, and most Obsidian Giant leaders are either shugenjas or samurai/shugenjas. Obsidian Giant Shamans favor the following domains: Ancestor, Flame, Knowledge, Metal, River, Stone, War, and Wood. But are by no means limited to those choices. An Obsidian Giants ECL is: +25 Later, Edit: Fixed the CR.
