When both the Bleak Gate and the Dreaming press upon the borders of the Material Plane, the veils that keep these mirror realities separate are thin, and may even fray. These are the Horrordays—seven progressively more frightening days, before the sun’s rising on the 8th marks the restoration of the veil and the passing of the planes. By Rachel Williamson.</p><p></p><p><strong>Horrorday Haunts: The Masked Ones</strong></p><p>Not every combat requires you to draw your sword—sometimes a battle of wits can be just as deadly. Legends tell of the Masked Ones: sinister monsters that challenge passers-by to riddles contests, slaying all who fail their tests. Those that solve the puzzles are said to gain magical boons—or at least seasonal treats. By Paul Hughes.</p><p></p><p><strong>The Festival Of Cursed Masks</strong></p><p>Appearing without warning and gone without a trace, the Festival of Cursed Masks is less of an event or celebration, and more of a supernatural disaster that inflicts itself upon an unsuspecting settlement. The day before the horror starts, masks start to appear in the afflicted town—tucked into cabinets, left on tables, or even laying in the street. These masks grant abilities and subconsciously encourage their wearers to perform acts of evil freely and without regret.
