Octopus and Grappling

Is the SRD wrong? It shows:

Octopus
Small Animal (aquatic)
...
BAB/Grapple: +1/+2
...
Special Attacks: Improved Grab
...
Abilities: Str 12....
...
Feats: Weapon Finesse

Did they just forget the -4 for small creature's "Special Grapple Size Modifier?" Or does Improved Grab give a grapple bonus (or negate the size penalty)? I can't find the answer in the SRD.

Yeah, it should have a grapple check of -2.

Improved Grab used to negate the size penalty to grapple circa 3.0E. It no longer seems to.

IMPROVED GRAB
If the creature hits with a melee weapon (usually a claw or bite attack), it deals normal damage and attempts to start a grapple as a free action without provoking an attack of opportunity. No initial touch attack is required, and Tiny and Small creatures do not suffer a special size penalty.

Octopi should have a racial bonus on grapple checks, IMO.

Yeah, the squids do, so I was sort of surprised to see that the octopi didn't.

It's just intra-Cephalopoda discrimination, I tell ya!
