Videogames take a long time to make! This one probably needs a while more in the oven. If WotC gives it that, and it gets released in the best possible state, great! I do think Archetype need to consider whether they have a game that needs to be a 9/10 or higher, or just an 8 or 8.5/10 kinda game. Because I'd put it to them that, actually, the latter is fine. You won't get the insane sales a 9/10 will, but some games just aren't going to be a 9/10. Like the elements just aren't there. So whilst I'd never advocate releasing too early, there's probably a point at which you accept this is the first in a series, and if you get an average of 85% on this, you can probably get like 90%+ on the next, and so on.
That's not really true. Very few people seem to be aware the RPG exists let alone was released not just "people who play fantasy RPGs", but even if it was the latter, that's like 90% of the market lol given how dominant D&D and others are is. So a pretty peculiar situation. The videogame is being reasonably well-advertised, assuming it's 1-2 years from release (it's getting a lot less coverage than expected if it's coming out sooner but I doubt it is). The RPG though, was shadow-dropped. I don't know why. There has been some post-release coverage from WotC, but it's very strange. My guess is they expected the videogame to be a lot closer to release by now (otherwise the book, secret lair episode, TTRPG etc. were a bit premature and likely to be forgotten because they're outside the hype-cycle, not a huge problem though), and that's not a criticism, except of whoever planned this marketing strategy.
