... of striding, springing, speed and spider climb!

Very quick question for everyone... Boots of Stride/Springing have been 'fixed' in price from their 2500 GP to 6000 GP ... anyone know if this effects Horseshoes of Speed as well (listed at 1800 GP)?

Secondly... if I wanted to create horseshoes of spider climbing speed, I would do, according to the fixeruled DMG, X for the base horseshoes of speed, and 2xY for the spider climb ability (additional power, not related, takes the same 'space' on the creature), correct? And the spider climb ability (Y) would be 1 x 1 x 2000 for a 1st level use-activated spell?

Thanks a tonne,

Kannik

just thought of something... if the two couldn't be used simultaneously, ie, if the wearer of the horseshoes could move 2x normal movement on regular ground, but then only 1/2 movement on a wall (ie, regular spider climb limitation), would the cost just be a simple addition, then?

It wouldn't be quite a smple addition, because there wouldn't be the need to change horseshoes when you wanted to shift from fast-on-the-floor to slow-up-the-wall. I'd price it a bit above a simple addition, but not as much as if they were unrelated powers you could use simultaneously. Also, I wouldn't rule that the powers were unrelated- both pertain to movement. That fact might balance the other consideration, bringing the price down again.

Pricing items can sure get complicated at times...

Don't secondary powers cost 2x base price to add?

So if i add "jumping" (ring of jumping) to a ring of regeneration, the cost is:
90000+2(2000) = 94000

And if i add "regeneration" (ring of regeneration) to a ring of jumping, the cost is:
2000+2(90000) = 182000

Yes... yes it does :P IIRC, adding an ability to an object that is similar in function but cannot be used simultaneously is 75% base cost, yes? (no books in front of me) Which is how they make the various staff, rod, etc. I guess that would apply here too. There is the 'you don't have to switch shoes' thing (which is good with horseshoes!), but with a ring or staff with multiple such powers its the same thing, so I'm not sure if there should be any penalty for that. Hmm. I'm starting to lean with the Speed + .75xSpider as a cost.

I'm guessing from the lack of comment that indeed the Horseshoes of Speed have not been eratta'ed and are still their listed cost, and/or that it isn't general consensus that 6k for boots of strid/spring should mean that HoS get more expensive too.... }:)
