It was much better at 2x speed! I can't hold it against him, I mean there is nothing wrong with him - I just don't like to hear or even watch him. Can't really explain it, though to me he comes off a bit full of himself / holier than you. I do like some of what he says - it is just how he says it that bothers me. It is a me issue - not him. I guess I feel: been there, done that. Partially it has to do with my statement above. When I heard him talk (or maybe what he wrote about) Flee Mortals it sounded like he was creating the definitive monster bestiary for 5e. The best ever and only real resource for monsters. Then the previews seem pretty normal to me. There is nothing wrong with them really, but there is nothing revolutionary either. I didn't feel like there was anything new. Heck someone did the making 5e monsters like 4e monsters several years ago and did at least, if not better, job of it than what I have seen in the previews. I also don't need 20 goblins and 20 skeletons and 20... I liked the idea of monsters having a theme, but then I didn't always agree with the theme chosen, so... Ultimately it will come down to how they do dragons, I am always looking for good dragons. If they can impress me with those, all will be forgiven.:) Additionally, I just feel I can, and have, made better monsters. Monsters that do everything they claim, but better. Or at least better for me. This book also made me realize that maybe I just don't want any more monster books. I typically say: I can always use more monsters! But I think that is no longer true (mostly). I think my own ideas for monster designs are more interesting than what I am seeing in this book or most others. So I am kind of off monster books I think.
