[QUOTE="Storme, post: 3843511, member: 56172"] I think the range is too long Jack. I'd say range: Close (25'+10/level). I didn't intend it to be a long range attack. One day per level isn't TOO bad. Time is the reason behind this spell. I think I could live with that for HATE, but not for LOVE. Thanks for your input LonePaladin. I am, however, quite familiar with the utilitzation of the spells you mentioned and often use them too good effect. The effects of Hate or Love, however can't be duplicated by either of those spells. On a rudimentary level, perhaps, in the same way that dimension door can duplicate teleport. But Charm person lasts a very short duration and doesn't simulate that long term Love Potion idea popular in pre-elizebethan literature, nor does it create a "love" effect. Suggestion could, but, as a level 3 spell, it's duration is very short, and not long enough to get the young man the lady wants to marry into his nicest clothes and to the church in time! Hehe. Also, confusion or suggestion cannot duplicate the effects of Hate. On a rudimentary level, perhaps, in the same way Shield duplicates Wall of Force. Both are short duration and doesn't simulate the long term pursuit of some cursed person after you until you can figure out how to stop him. Both are much narrower focused than charm, suggestion, confusion, etc, but the effects last longer. Neither of them is a Combat oriented spell. My biggest concern is the duration of both these spells...which was the reason why I wrote them. Can a "permanent till dispeled or removed" spell be allowed in 3.5? Maybe they just need to be higher level. Heck...Power Word Stun has no savings throw, and Polymorph Any Object under the right conditions is permanent till dispeled though the effects of both are far more potent than Hate or Love (this was my thinking when I initially wrote these).
