Old products reviews

Hi

I found some old stuff today including the module that was included in the D&D expert box. X1, L'Ile de la terreur in French.
I read it in the bus this morning and OMG!! it's bad!

So... I started wondering if there's a good site with lots of reviews of older products, not D20 reviews. I'm running a campaign in FR and there's a lot of adventures available as esd and was thinking about buying some.

Thanks

A lot of the early modules are "bad" if you're used to later, more story-driven products with reasonable ecologies and lots of user-friendly text-boxes.

Doesn't make it any less fun (especially when a dragon turtle rises and sinks your ship, stranding you on the Isle of Dread).

Rpg.net and mortality.net have some reviews of old products from various editions, but it's just a handful. If you browse through the reviews at RPG.net, you will find some, I remember reading B10-Night's Dark Terror there. Mortality has a very well written review of Ruins of Undermountain. However, you're unlikely to be able to find a review of a specific product.

Oh, and I second that X1 was a great module. They don't make em like the used to.

Another aspect of modules in those days was leaving vast bits of it undeveloped so the DM could do their own stuff.

Might have something to do with the traduction. Maybe some things were left out? There's a big wall, 200 fighters guarding it...why are they guarding it?

In any case, the traduction is horrendous and it reminds me why I started learning English.

Still...no reply to my question, any good sites for old reviews?
I was considering running the trilogy set in the Dales

Sword of the Dales
Secrets of Spiderhaunt
Return of Randall Morn

Am wondering if I should spend my money on those. Thanks
