Omega World Question and Pimpage

First, just a heads up to let you mini-game fans know that I'm running an Omega World Pbp over here.

Second a question on the Mutant Racial stocks in Omega World. Do mutants get the stock mutations by default, and get the random stock mutation only of they roll it on the random table (ie result 91-00 - stock mutation)? Or tdo they only get stock mutations if they roll that result.

I ask because each racial stock has 1 stock defect listed, no randoms, and on the defect table 91-00 is stock defect, implying you only get the defect if you roll it. Make sense?

I've read over the rules a few times, and can't find any clarification in the magazine, so any opinions would help.

stock mutations & defects

This gave us trouble when we played it, too. I give the stock mutations free, the random stock mutation only if they roll it, and the stock defects again only if they roll it. It's the only thing that makes sense given the +1 or +2 EL as compared to pure strain humans.

Makes sense to me too, although I suspect game balance is not the highest priority in Omega World!
