On a post-apocalyptic world: What’s the coolest thing that could happen next? I'm gearing up to run a short senario and have some fun with D20Future stuff. Here is what I'm going to tell the PCs (who will all be level 7), PL 7 --0--0--0--0--0-- You, the PCs, own and operate a small ship on a minimalist crew. At one point or another, you paid the Earth Government a large sum of money to use one of their Jump Gate from Earth's Solar System to another distant one. During your Jump, the fusion reactor creating the magnetic forces used by the Jump gate failed, and your ship popped back into real space in one of those "wrong place at the wrong time" situations. Struck by a fairly large meteoroid, Your ship started to decompress. Through the respective skill of the crew onboard, and a lot of luck(read: action points) you managed do a quick on the fly patch job, and land the ship on the closest planet. Your ship locates you in the Star System Orpheus, and notes its discovery 2587. The physical and biological survey, completed by the UA2 (Universal Astronomy Association) in 2594 classified all four of its planet as Class 2C; Able to support life, should it be introduced to the system. In the year 2601 the Iliad Corporate Conglomerate (ICC) bought exclusive rights to develop any body encircling the system's class F green star, and dubbed each of its four planets Orpheus I - IV. The year is currently 3225, and you are currently on Orpheus III. Your crew intact, but integral ship parts badly damaged. Your sensors detect the existence of radio signals on the planet, and their are signs of life, but you are still in the middle of the desert. --0--0--0--0--0-- This idea just sort of popped up on the fly, so parts of it are a little sketchy, and the PCs are going to come up with the history leading them up to the jump gate part, as well as what kind of stuff they have on their ship and so on. I'm just wondering what you guys think the "coolest" possible thing to do for this 2-3 session scenario on a crazy desert world. I'm thinking along the lines of lots of mutations, and maybe some sort of abandoned ICC lab or something. Thoughts?
