Outpost Xavier Long had the Orcs of the Severed Hand crossed the border and caused death and destruction in the lands of the nobles. King Haruud IV proclaimed that any brave man who could protect the border for one year would be granted the land and title to the area he protected. So two brash adventurers fresh from their latest exploits took up the challenge. They spent their hard fought and won coin on constructing a tower. They fought skirmishes with the orcs and other monsters all during the project. Finally Quasqueton was complete. The warrior Rogahn and his magical friend Zelligar felt proud of their accomplishment. The Orcs were outraged. Their chiefs met and called a horde together. The combined might was too much. The walls of Quasqueton fell and the two nobles fled. King Haruud IV was not happy either, for the Orcs did not disband or breakup due to infighting as normal. He had to call his own troops to the border. Order was restored at the cost of many men and much of the treasury. The Orcs were pushed back across the border. Never again. King Haruud swore. So he had a series of outposts constructed. And they in turn were joined by a Keep. The Keep on the Borderlands. Quasqueton and the work done by Zelligar and Rogahn were soon forgotten. What became of the two also remained a mystery. Many years later, a band of adventurers exploring the well below Outpost Xavier discovered a clue to part of the mystery of Quasqueton... you can read more here: http://www.enworld.org/showthread.php?t=92669
