[QUOTE="ironfang, post: 4547963, member: 79975"] I welcome you, Heros and Villians alike, to step into the World of Dragon. The gods are seeking two groups, of 3-6 players. One group will have a more noble purpose than the other, but both groups will be able to decide which road they wish to travel down. I dont want to give away more information than this. There are no heroes greater than the player characters (villains are a different story). There are no Elminsters, no Drizzt Do'Urdens, no Mordenkainens to save the day. Just the players. And the horrors are unlike any of the horrors faced in any other land.... forces of nature which can only be faced with knowledge, cunning, bravery... and a spoon full of luck. Determination, drive, and personal motivations will guide the characters and the campaign in the direction they wish it to go (very flexible story line). Will the hero's become villains and the villains become heros? Will a rift form amongst friends? These are things for the players to decide.... but all unbeknown that the fate of the world lies in their hands. Basic requirements of the campaign: 1. Players will be required to learn about their local village. I will provide a short list of who you know with some basic information about those people (it will be about 1 typed page). I will also provide a very basic history of the town, region, and the game world (also about 1 page). Everything else will be learned as the game progresses (through NPC's, adventuring, etc..). I believe worlds are best learned about through experience, not through twenty page narratives. 2. There will be a basic race/class information sheet that players should read before picking their class/race combination. While I generally do not restrict race/class selection, some combinations will be exceedingly difficult... to play (for example, in the villians campaign, elves are slaves to powerful nobles, half-elves (also known as Xeshalren) are kill-on-site, and wizards are outlawed unless they work exclusively for the church). This list will also explain which kits are available, and what they mean. I expect players who select kits to be solid role players. 3. Deities. I don't really care about deities, but I do expect "specialist" priests to be very mindful of their deities when playing. There are only a few exceptions to this rule: Hecate and the Wrenish Mythos (which will be explained later in game). Only a member of the villain campaign can start as a priest of Hecate. 4. I use 2E rules, with critical hit charts. 5. I check encumbrance but I don't care much about tracking food. 6. I do not track spell components, with the exception of certain spells (such as summon familiar). 7. No rules lawyering (but things might be able to be negotiated). 8. The game schedule will be determined by the group as a whole. Technical Requirements: In order to have the most efficient, smooth gaming experience possible, I use modern, free, software to facilitate online game play. While I will use webposts and email to conduct non adventure related business (such as spell research, magical item creation, estate management, and mundane NPC interaction), I will exclusively use Teamspeak and OpenRPG for group sessions. 1. I use two applications to DM online: Teamspeak and OpenRPG. You can find both applications at the below links. Please purchase a cheap headset with microphone in order to reduce background noise. 4. I will meet up with anyone in the game ahead of time so they can get all technical matters sorted out before game play (plus help people get their hot keys for private chat set up before game).
