Welcome!
As the thread title says, this is a 4e modern homebrew kind of arrangement: sort of a mixture of Ghost in the Shell (if you're familiar with the anime series -- not a necessity) and the post-modern feel of Metal Gear 4. Para-military corporations control a large portion of the world's armed forces, creating proxy wars for profit. Cybernetics is an advancing field, and prosthetic limbs are common in both the military and civilian culture.
It's 95% 4e mechanics, modded a bit for the prevalence of ranged combat in this sort of setting. This campaign is pretty episodic, meaning the schedule is very flexible: if you're not available when most of the group is on, that's quite okay: I encourage players to set up a timeslot with me for mini "episodes" with anywhere from one to a couple players any time in the week, and we'll have a good time. This favors schedule flexibility and helps keep the narrative tight and exciting.
I aim to make this campaign even parts roleplaying and combat/skill challenges, with an emphasis on dynamic combat and meaningful roleplaying: expect to encounter tactical situations (flanking, hacking, sniping, explosives disposal, hostage situations, chase scenes, etc.) where your choices will matter, and expect dramatic moments. I also value player creativity: there's a lot of room to improvise, or customize your character gameplay and roleplay-wise. Finally, you won't be railroaded to a particular story track in this game: the episodic nature of this means there will be many possibilities (after all, that's the strength of this type of gaming!).
Let me know if you're interested, I'm really looking forward to running this!

- Requirements
- I use Ventrilo for voice chat (exceptions might be made if it's a single player episode). A working mic is recommended, but not required.
- Must be willing to use Maptools (Great program, free and cross-platform, I'm happy to show you how to use it)
- Intimate knowledge of 4e (or even D&D) is not required: if you like the sound of this campaign, let's talk
.
- Age requirement is 16+ (though I'll gladly make exceptions for mature players), and you must be mature. If you want to play a dual katana-wielding cyborg ninja who blocks bullets and "pwns" foes, this isn't the campaign for you.
Let me know if you're interested, I'm really looking forward to running this!
