This surprises me a bit, but Amazon is already listing the starter set for the D&D Miniatures. Best part is the price -- it's listed at $13.99, on sale from $19.99. 30% savings!

So instead of the figures at $1.25 each, you get them for $0.87 each. Note that you only get one rare out of the box and not two, but still, for those people interested in volumes of commons...

I feel sorry for gaming store owners. Most other Collectable stuff you can't get the huge book based internet discount on. This will take a nice BIG bite out of FLGS sales IF the game catches on.

I saw this in my work's online ordering bit a couple months ago and was wondering if it was a WOTC oversite. I guess its not.

It's hard not to take a chance with a "per mini price" that low. Volumes of commons, when it comes to humanoids and goblinoids probably shouldn't deter too many DMs from giving it a try. I'm still more interested in seeing what sort of secondary market crops up on ebay and around local circles.

I guess this just means more minis for me.

Sweet.

Over all thats my opinion too. I'l be getting all the boosters i want for 40% off, no ship, through work.

The problem is for a mini game having the FLGS support it by giving you room to play is a really helpfull. If the stuff isn't selling in store very well there will be much less reason for the shop to give you retail space for 'open' or tournement play.

Also it makes the product less desirable to retailers if the hot collectable commodity is being sold a massive onlne discount.

I've actually already pre-ordered the Entry Pack from Amazon...I have a $5 promotional thing so it dropped the price even more. Thing is, the boosters are still $9.99 at Amazon...so it might not hurt FLGS too much...though this could obviously change.

I know I'll be using one of the gaming stores around here for the secondary market...at least. I mean, Amazon sells some Heroclix stuff, but while I play ever so often, I never really buy from them.

Talon,

Am I off the mark with my concern. You don't see Amazon level discounts on MTG or Heroclix last time i checked.
