My friend and I are interested in starting another online D&D 4E game. Our main group consists of people with busier schedules than our own and we want another group that can play more frequently. We have a DM and one player but would like to get three more players, four tops.
We use MapTool with simple, customized macros (of our own design) and Skype for voice chat. If you're not familiar with either, we will work with you to make setup as painless as possible.
We like to play on Fridays and Saturdays generally twice a month, at least once a month. We like to play 4-6 hours at a time, typically starting around 7 or 8pm (central).
You should own the 4E PHB and have a feel for how the game plays, or at least a genuine interest in learning.
We play mostly 4E standard, using most of the core material, with a few notable house rules. We're playing in a homebrew setting that is somewhat inspired by the standard 4E "points of light". This campaign will kick off at level 1. We'll probably use a private Google Group as a forum for keeping in contact between sessions.

You should check out the Campaign Rules document at the least. Also you'll probably want to read the Races document to see how some of the races have been altered to fit the history of our world. The world is intended to be just a little less over-the-top than standard D&D, but still allowing for plenty of heroic action and traditional D&D tropes.
We're fairly mature roleplayers. We're both in our early 30s with 15+ years of experience with RPGs each. We really love both the roleplaying and the crunchy bits of 4E. We're both married and have full time jobs so we understand if you can't always make a session, but we want you to be able to commit to 4 out of 5 games or thereabouts. We don't explore romantic themes between characters or NPCs, mostly because we're more interested in adventure, mystery, and avoiding potentially heavy RL issues.
We don't require that you take on a special voice and act everything out for your character, but we expect you to participate in roleplaying and have a grip on your character's strengths and flaws. We expect you to create a character that makes sense within the world. We also expect you to contribute to everyone else's enjoyment by letting others have the spotlight from time to time, etc.
We have a sort of TV drama style to our games where there's plenty of room for characters to build on archetypes, but we want a little authenticity and thought to go into character concepts and motivations. The sort of character interplay in Deadwood, Firefly, or GRRM's A Song of Ice and Fire would be ideal for the group.
We cuss like sailors and hold very little sacred, so if you're thin-skinned or strictly religious, you're likely to get offended from time to time. We lean politically left, but would prefer if politics, religion, and other controversial topics don't interfere with everyone having a good time.
We don't take things too seriously, but we don't "goof off" constantly either. A perfect session for us has a mixture of challenging combat and social encounters.
Since we're starting a campaign that could run for many months, we want to make sure everyone is a good fit and any potential personality clashes are manageable. We'll want to talk with you a little up front to make sure you're getting involved in a game that will be rewarding for you.
That's a lot to read, I know. If you're still interested, please drop me a line: je AT dreamcolumn DOT com. Feel free to ask me any questions if you're unsure about whether this game is right for you.
