[QUOTE="Shayuri, post: 7055631, member: 4936"] Still tinkering...notably haven't picked a name yet. Background is still in a BIT of flux, but the gist of it is that the character grew up in the care of a church-sponsored orphanage, having been given up as an infant. Hers is not a tragic tale of woe though...the priests and nuns of the orphanage were stern but fair, and while life there wasn't fun and games nor was it a descent into despair and depravity. She wasn't even the only tiefling there. She seized on the notion that she'd been cursed early on though, and believes that if she can undo this curse it will also change her back into a normal person. When younger, she used to hope she could find her real parents again after that. Nowadays she's less fixated on it...though she would kind of like to show up, uncursed, and confront them with that. The men and women who run the orphanage were very clear in explaining that even if there was a curse involved somehow in her making, it wasn't the kind of curse that could be broken. Tieflings are born, not made, and while they must struggle to overcome their deeper natures and stay in the light they are only freed from their flesh at the same moment anyone else is...in the death following a life well-lived. She refused to accept that though. With no concrete guide on how to undo a curse like that, she reasoned that the key must lie in doing good...refuting the darkness of the curse with deeds. She sort of fell into the idea of prowling the streets by night and hunting down thieves and ne'er-do-wells, and it's not going too badly so far. But sometimes a target is more personal...and this one left the city, hoping she wouldn't follow. Better luck next time, scum! In mechanical terms the character is straight up artillimage, or will be. Heavy reliance on fire magic means I'll probably take Elemental Adept at 4, if we get that far. Though the Sorcerous Origin is Draconic, I'm flavoring it as more of an infernal set of traits than dragon-related. ?
