So I'm thinking on the issues raised by Shayuri. One of those random sound-bytes I've subscribed to related to GMing is to build the right game for the group at the table today, right now, as things are. I of course also have to include myself as a player in this math. I do want to keep a moderately high pace. The light-hearted in the original recruiting thread title was about the fact that if things don't exactly RP out correctly or whatever, I want to just roll with the punches. I also want it to be a bit more on the fun and silly side of RP to some degree to lighten the mood. And the "hack and slash" is mostly that I do in fact want to do a fair bit of combat for a PbP even though the medium isn't strong at that. I'm learning the rules, and honestly this game has already jumped me forward multiple real-life sessions in terms of knowledge, which is great. This is actually the second set of decisions I've already had to consider related to compromising. The first was moving up to 6 player characters. I wanted to keep a small tight group, but this seems to be working fine. And I already had two people dedicated enough to read the thread, so I wanted to include them. So I'll try to even out my pacing a bit with regards to jumping to the next scene. Now, I'm not 100% on how to do that. I have, in the past, let the players move the scene forward themselves and just waited for that. But I somewhat want to "push" still. What I will do is probably take advantage of the OOC thread for that and ask if people think we're ready to move on, rather than just deciding to move on myself in the IC thread. Do people think that will help address the issue? I'm not actually sure if it does, but that's what I've arrived at so-far today.
