Would an Imp, quasit or pseudodragon share their magical resistance when within 10ft of their master, as per the MM (page 63 for the quasit, page 69 for the imp, page 254 for the pseudodragon)? Arguments in favor are that this isn't game breaking and is comparable to other character's abilities (figure the moon druid's chapechange) and that familiars don't scale well with level, like other warlock pacts, making this balanced. Arguments aginst is that this isn't expressly called out in the PHB (but the MM cam out afterwards).
I think I may be experiencing withdrawal symptoms. 12 hours without an update, should we be scared? ;-) All kidding aside, I face a similar situation regarding inspiration. If Thaliss is to blast, he'll make sure that he has advantage because otherwise, it's better to do something that will do some control (like illusions). Question for Forged Fury: I've made a point of picking invocations that you'don't have, to avoid stepping on your toes. If you want to use the darkness/devil's sight more often, Thaliss could also swap out his Misty Visions evocation for Devil's sight, so there would be more synergy during combat. Our characters are already quite different (you're is melee, mine more like a wizard), so I don't think it would be a problem, but I wanted to discuss it with you first. The advantage in darkness is quite a nice gambit. I'm also tempted to go Pact of the Tome with the book of ancient secrets invocations, so I may not end up having the spare invocation for Devil's sight. Leading me to my question for Creamsteak: I'm looking for options for when we level up, and wanted to know your thoughts on the Warlock's pact of the chain. Your ruling will impact weather I pick pact of the tome or pact of the chain for Thaliss when we level up, because a beefed up familiar is a bit useless without the magic resistance considering that you can get a normal familiar with pact of the tome + book of ancient secrets invocations. Thanks and cheers, SG
