So, I'm rather enjoying Ru's inner fight to maintain his Monk discipline vs. his barbaric heritage, though it strikes me that, at least at the moment, he may be losing that fight; it has me pondering going back to a level or two of Barbarian. The trouble, of course, is that 1) Ru would have to change alignment (again, since there's obviously an assumed alignment change from his 1st barbarian level to his 1st Monk level), and 2) he can't ever take more levels in Monk if that fight he's having within himself should ever be won (or at least swung back 'round to discipline again). I've never written a feat before, and have no real idea how to judge game balance, but on a whim I thought of this. It's two more levels (if he lives that long ;) ) before Ru could take another feat, anyway, but since I had the whim, I thought I'd throw it in here and see what folks think? Possibly this is better discussed in a more general House Rules forum, but since I came up with it specifically in regards to Ru, I thought I'd throw it in here. Feat Name: Unsteady Inner Peace Prereqs: Flurry of Blows class ability, Rage class ability; Chaotic or Lawful alignment. Description: The character can Rage even if her aligment is Lawful. When in a rage, she retains her Improved Unarmed Strike and Unarmed Damage class abilities. If unarmored or unencumbered, she also retains her AC Bonus and Unarmored Speed Bonus (the standard -2 AC penalty for rage still applies). She loses all other Monk abilities for the duration of her rage and for the period of fatigue that follows. Within those same parameters, and regardless of alignment, she is considered Chaotic for the purposes of spells and spell-like abilities which rely on alignment. Special: The character can freely multiclass between Barbarian and Monk. However, her alignment changes based on her most recent class level: Lawful for Monk, Chaotic for Barbarian.
