I understand the problem quite well, Doghead. I'm just not so sure GE does. Seeing as the only person with a problem with x is the other person responsible for half of x, and also the person who has (stubbornly) refused to go with a course of action that has been repeatedly pointed out as a simple solution to x, my sympathies are indeed somewhat limited at this point. It takes two to tango, and if we really want the dancing to stop, then I truly think both partners must put effort in. Make it another x if you will: "I do not enjoy having to forcefully prevent my character(s) from reacting to yours in a way that's natural and makes IC sense, and I will likely have to leave the game if I have to do it again." As for practical IC solutions, realistically and to my mind, it hinges on demonstrating that Khyrinnax is not hiding anything of material import to Slice. This can be done by the man in question (unlikely), or by the Witching Troll Himself/Herself (off screen?), but it probably needs to be done or at least some inter-personal tension will remain between those two if they remain in the same party (and this is especially true if they are forced to coexist by some outside force, manu-military (which is an entirely acceptable outcome for me, interresting even, but clearly not for GE)). Slice's character is just not going to take *that* much of a U-turn in this short an amount of time... Simplest version? Slice poofes back in with the "Knows Khyrinnax's background" attribute tacked on (maybe a geas on him too? That could be cool) and we go from there....
